Bluestem PACE is looking for a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team! This position will work between our McPherson and Hutchinson locations as needed. The hours are 8:00am - 4:30pm.
Position Overview:
The primary function of the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is to provide direct treatment to participants under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA helps implement individualized therapy plans designed to restore function, prevent disability, and promote wellness for older adults living in the community.
Essential Job Functions:

Deliver physical therapy interventions per the established plan of care, under the direction of the Physical Therapist.

Observe participant response to treatment and report findings to the supervising therapist.

Document daily treatments and participant progress in the medical record system.

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (IDT) to coordinate participant care.

Assist with participant transfers, mobility, and the use of adaptive equipment.

Monitor equipment maintenance and report safety concerns.

Plan individual and group activities and implement treatment according to plan.

Educate and instruct participants and family members in proper care and use of various supports and exercise programs and in use of durable medical equipment in the home.

Exhibit communication skills necessary to interpret age specific responses to treatment.

Train PACE staff in methods to maximize safety and functional abilities.

Know and adhere to the philosophy and goals of Bluestem PACE.

Transport participants and/or equipment in ones personal vehicle or PACE vehicle as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:

Must be at least eighteen [18]-years of age

Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Must have graduated from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Must have a current Kansas PTA license in good standing

Must have CPR certification

Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation

Prefer experience with older adults or in a geriatric setting
Physical Requirements:
Medium Work Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
