Employee Relations Specialist
Job Description
The Employee Relations Specialist serves as a key partner in fostering a positive, respectful, and high-performing work environment across the health system. This role leads and supports employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and policy guidance, while proactively driving initiatives that enhance employee engagement and retention. The specialist collaborates closely with leaders to build capability in managing performance, navigating complex employee situations, and strengthening team culture. This position plays a critical role in promoting organizational values, ensuring consistency in practices, and mitigating risk. The role contributes to both system-level and department-level strategies that support a culture of excellence and belonging.

Responsibilities
Analyzes employee relations data (turnover, engagement feedback, exit interviews, trends) to identify risks and opportunities., Assists in policy development, review, and communication to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and organizational standards., Coaches leaders to build capability in managing employee performance, navigating difficult conversations, and fostering accountability., Collaborates with HR Centers of Excellence (e.g., Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning & Development) to align employee experience strategies., Demonstrates and promotes adherence of the highest level to SBL Standards of Performance., Develops and facilitates culture sessions, team interventions, and training aimed at improving engagement, communication, and team effectiveness., Ensures consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and employment practices across the organization., Leads thorough, timely, and impartial employee relations investigations, including documentation, interviews, and recommendations for resolution., Maintains accurate and confidential records of employee relations activities and investigations., Participates in organizational projects and committees that support workforce strategy and culture enhancement., Partners in the development and implementation of engagement strategies and action plans based on employee feedback and survey results., Partners with leaders to address workplace concerns and resolve conflict in a proactive and constructive manner., Provides guidance and consultation to leaders on employee relations matters, including performance management, corrective action, and policy interpretation., Supports organizational initiatives that promote inclusion, belonging, and a positive workplace culture., Supports system and department-level retention initiatives by identifying trends, recommending strategies, and partnering with leaders on action plans.
