Republic Investment Company is a commercial real estate–focused family office founded in 1983 by entrepreneur Ben Nehmadi. Our active portfolio spans more than 25 properties across the United States across hotels, office buildings, multifamily assets, and land. Our team specializes in value-add and distressed acquisitions, targeting opportunistic deals that can double invested capital within two to three years. Through our affiliate, Republic Funding LLC, we also provide bridge financing to borrowers acquiring, repositioning, and renovating commercial properties nationwide.
We're digitizing decades of property records, leases, permits, vendor contracts, insurance certificates, and building files across our portfolio, and we're looking for a detail-oriented intern to help lead that effort from our Midtown office.
Role Insight
- A real, close-up look at how a private real estate investment firm actually runs. Every file you scan is a lease, a permit, or a contract tied to a live asset.
- Direct exposure to property management, asset management, and finance teams who rely on the archive you're building.
- Opportunities to shadow our Acquisitions & Investments leads and other department leads, and see firsthand how deals and buildings are actually run.
- A steady, predictable schedule and paycheck. Monday through Friday, no nights, no weekends.
- A foot in the door: Strong performers are the first we consider for open coordinator and analyst-support roles as they come up, and will have the opportunity to shadow current employees.
What You'll Do
- Scan, label, and file physical property records (leases, permits, certificates of insurance, vendor contracts, inspection reports) into our digital filing system.
- Organize digitized files by property, category, and date using a consistent naming and folder convention.
- Quality-check scans for legibility and completeness, and flag missing or damaged documents.
- Maintain a tracking log of what's been digitized and what remains across the portfolio.
- Coordinate with property management staff to locate and retrieve files as needed.
- Handle basic office equipment (scanners, shredders) and troubleshoot routine issues.
What We're Looking For
- Highly organized, with genuine attention to detail. Small errors in filing compound fast at this scale.
- Comfortable with repetitive, high-volume work
- Basic computer proficiency (file management, Excel, scanning/OCR software. We'll train on our specific systems).
- Reliable and punctual; comfortable lifting and moving document boxes.
- No prior real estate experience required. We'll teach you what each document type is and why it matters.
