Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive addiction counseling, mental health support, and recovery planning for individuals struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Your expertise will help clients navigate their recovery journey through evidence-based practices, including psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, and behavioral therapy. Duties
- Conduct thorough client assessments using diagnostic tools such as DSM-5 criteria and ICD coding to determine treatment needs and develop personalized care plans.
- Deliver individual and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing to promote behavioral change.
- Facilitate crisis intervention and crisis management strategies to ensure client safety during acute episodes or emergencies.
- Provide child & family counseling, integrating family systems approaches to support the client’s social environment and recovery process.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation adhering to medical documentation standards, HIPAA regulations, and electronic health records (EHR/EHR) management protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for case management, intake procedures, and treatment planning while ensuring compliance with confidentiality standards.
- Engage in ongoing research and data collection efforts to improve clinical outcomes and support evidence-based practice initiatives related to addiction medicine and mental health care.
Experience
- Proven experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, including co-occurring mental health conditions such as PTSD or behavioral health issues.
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical documentation standards, medical terminology, ICD-9/10 coding, CPT coding, and electronic health record systems.
- Strong background in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), and crisis intervention techniques.
- Experience working within hospital settings or home & community care environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic evaluation processes, addiction counseling strategies, and case management practices.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations from various cultural backgrounds while maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
- Familiarity with social work principles, patient assessment methods, mental health counseling techniques, and evidence-based behavioral health practices.

Pay: $25.28 - $30.44 per hour
