We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Coordinator to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Manage daily clinical operations, including patient assessments, medical documentation, and care planning across various departments such as critical care, geriatrics, pediatrics, and behavioral health.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, ensuring adherence to nursing policies, HIPAA regulations, and long-term care standards.
- Coordinate with physicians, specialists, and support staff to facilitate diagnostic evaluations, treatment plans, discharge planning, and follow-up care.
- Oversee medical records management using EMR systems like Epic or Cerner; ensure accurate coding with ICD-9/10 and CPT coding for billing and documentation purposes.
- Conduct patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, venipuncture, catheter care, and tube feeding; utilize physiology knowledge for effective patient evaluation.
- Ensure compliance with state healthcare regulations and NCQA standards; monitor infection control practices and aseptic techniques.
- Lead utilization review and management activities to optimize resource use while maintaining high-quality patient care.
Experience
- Proven experience working in acute care environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers or hospital medicine units.
- Demonstrated expertise in critical & intensive care including ICU or PICU settings; experience with ventilator management and airway management preferred.
- Strong background in various specialties such as emergency medicine, geriatrics, behavioral health, neonatal intensive care (NICU), or long-term care facilities.
- Supervisory experience managing clinical teams within medical-surgical units or long-term care settings; proficient in nurse management and team leadership.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks; adept at medical documentation and charge experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, CPT/DRG coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and hospital regulations including HIPAA compliance.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities; proficiency in dementia care and memory support is a plus.
