Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms with sterile instruments and supplies, ensuring adherence to infection control and aseptic techniques.
- Assist oral surgeons during procedures by handing instruments, managing suction, and monitoring patient comfort.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including 3D scans, to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor vital signs and medical history of patients before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety.
- Provide pre- and post-operative instructions to patients, addressing questions about care and recovery.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining medical documentation.
Skills
- Proficiency with dental software systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures related to oral surgery and general dentistry.
- Experience with chairside assisting techniques in pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and other specialties.
- Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while maintaining strict infection control standards.
- Familiarity with medical coding practices related to dental procedures for accurate billing and recordkeeping.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with the dental team and educate patients about their treatments.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry considerations when assisting young patients through complex procedures like wisdom teeth removal or implants.

Pay: $49,991.77 - $60,205.14 per year
