Construction Inspector
Immediate Availabilities
3+ Yrs. Construction Inspector: Experience in horizontal construction activities: roadway construction and all associated incidental work. Problem solving skills, good written and oral communication, Ability to compile reports and maintain project schedule. Ability to multi-task. Very familiar with drawings, specifications, and special provisions.
Sample responsibilities for this position include:
- Site Investigation to assess need road repaving, sidewalk repair/replacement and associated activities.
- Develop estimates of repair/replacement of road and sidewalks.
- Create scope of work using general specification.
- Drive to multiple sites in a day
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Test and evaluate materials with respect to construction specifications and test procedures to ensure the utilization of materials capable of yielding durable finished products
- Field inspections to evaluate the work performed and materials used.
- Establish and maintain productive relationship with contractor supervisors to ensure that materials are properly handled and applied and that corrections in procedure are promptly made
- Researches and interprets contract requirements to determine whether construction work is performed in substantial compliance with plans, specifications and special provisions
- Review drawings, specifications and manuals to prepare for the inspection
- Prepare inspectors' daily reports and other project related reports.
- Manage community relationships with residents and local government officials and organizations
Education:
- High School Diploma equivalent, Field Experience preferred
Experience:
- Paving/ Paving Inspector: 3 years (Preferred)
- Basic understanding of Asphalt Paving and Concrete terminology and best practices.
- Sidewalks, Curb and Gutter
Location: Prince George's County
Multiple Locations and subdivisions
Skilled: Basic Measurement Skills, Oral and written communication, basic computer skills.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
