$25 per hour plus mileage reimbursement
We are hiring a dependable and patient person to provide one-on-one support to a friendly young man with autism on Thursday afternoons. This is a small, steady position that may be a good source of supplemental income for someone who already has a flexible weekday schedule.
The regular schedule is Thursdays from 1:30 to 4:00 PM, for a total of 2½ hours per week.
About the Position
The worker will help him participate in activities outside the home and provide support while traveling between work, recreational activities, and other locations in the community.
Responsibilities may include:
* Accompanying him to community activities
* Driving him to or from work and other scheduled activities
* Supporting him in public settings
* Helping with transitions between activities
* Encouraging independence, confidence, and active participation
He enjoys going to the YMCA, visiting bookstores, volunteering, and walking on the Radnor Trail. He is friendly, communicates well, and has a good sense of humor. He generally does well with familiar routines and benefits from calm, consistent support when navigating community settings.
He also has mild epilepsy. His seizures have been infrequent and brief, and the selected worker will receive appropriate information and training.
Schedule and Pay
* Thursdays, 1:30–4:00 PM
* 2½ hours per week
* Starting pay of $25 per hour
* Mileage reimbursement when he is riding in the worker’s vehicle

Requirements
* Reliable vehicle
* Valid driver’s license and current car insurance
* Ability to complete required background checks
* Dependability, patience, and a calm, easygoing approach
Prior experience supporting someone with autism or another disability is helpful, but reliability and a willingness to learn are especially important.
