Position Summary
Katie's Kids Learning Center is seeking caring, dependable, and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Support Staff. We are looking for individuals who genuinely love working with children and are passionate about creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn and grow.
Support Staff work collaboratively with Lead Teachers and other team members to support daily classroom operations, build positive relationships with children and families, and maintain the high standards of care and education that Katie's Kids is known for. Positions are available on both a full-time and part-time basis, with opportunities to continue beyond the summer into the fall.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist Lead Teachers in implementing daily classroom routines and activities.
- Provide attentive supervision to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children.
- Build positive, caring relationships with children while encouraging their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Support classroom management using positive guidance techniques.
- Prepare and maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Assist with meal service, diapering, toileting, handwashing, and other daily care routines as needed.
- Participate in outdoor play, enrichment activities, and classroom transitions.
- Communicate professionally with children, families, and fellow team members.
- Work cooperatively as part of a collaborative team while maintaining a positive and flexible attitude.
- Follow all Katie's Kids Learning Center policies, DCFS licensing regulations, and health and safety procedures.
- Attend required meetings and complete required trainings.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- College coursework in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience working with children is preferred.
- Genuine passion for working with young children in a group child care setting.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively participate in classroom activities, including sitting on the floor, bending, kneeling, and engaging in outdoor play.
Schedule
- Full-Time and Part-Time positions available.
- Schedule determined based on program needs.
Compensation
Starting Wage: $15.00 per hour
