UAG School of Medicine is seeking a performance-driven Admissions Counselor to drive enrollment growth within the U.S. market. This is not a passive advising role. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills, excels at pipeline management, and is motivated by achieving enrollment goals while delivering an exceptional prospective student experience.
As a member of the Admissions team, the Admissions Counselor manages the full enrollment lifecycle, serving as the primary point of contact for prospective students from initial inquiry through enrollment and registration. The role is responsible for building relationships with prospective students and parents while representing UAG School of Medicine's North American MD Pathway and guiding applicants through a structured admissions process that prepares them for U.S. medical residency outcomes.
The Admissions Counselor will manage a high-volume prospect pipeline, conduct admissions interviews, evaluate applications, provide personalized guidance, and convert qualified applicants into enrolled medical students. This role requires consistent follow-up, effective communication across multiple channels, and the ability to present UAG School of Medicine to diverse audiences through virtual and in-person information sessions, presentations, and one-on-one consultations.
Success in this position requires maintaining accurate records within the CRM, monitoring applicant progress, meeting enrollment objectives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless admissions experience. The Admissions Counselor also contributes to the continuous improvement of admissions processes and supports institutional initiatives focused on enrollment growth, student onboarding, and retention.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, results-oriented, customer-focused, and capable of balancing relationship-building with performance metrics in a fast-paced admissions environment.
Essential Functions:
- Effectively communicates with internal and external entities to build recruitment pipelines and successfully attain recruitment goals.
- Responsible for developing an extensive travel schedule throughout the recruitment campaign cycle.
- As needed, attend medical job fairs, university recruitment events, coordinate and host receptions, student information sessions, and other events related to new student recruitments to increase awareness and prospect pool.
- Generate applications and collect all necessary supporting documentation for admissions.
- Routinely and systematically follow through on inquiries and applications to maximize enrollment.
- Responsible for recruitment life cycle from prospect to enrolled student.
- Effectively utilize software such as an admission CRM system, and the organizational systems to effectively manage student records.
- Maintains a monthly communication sequence with selected target audiences (subject matter and topics will be based on recruitment plan) and coordinates the dissemination of recruiting materials through traditional mail, electronic, and presentation style sessions.
- Counsel prospective students on the UAG medical program and co-curricular involvement opportunities.
- Assists in the pertinent activities related to class registration, financial aid, and orientation functions.
- Maintains records of recruitment, follow-up, advising, and registration activities and prepares enrollment reports.
- Follow prescribed recruitment strategy protocol and business processes to assure maximize recruitment yield.
- Employee will hold Confidential Information in strict confidence and shall exercise the maximum degree of care to prevent disclosure to others. Employee will not reproduce the Confidential Information for any purpose other than the performance of his/her duties.

- Must be detailed-oriented and have a focus on achieving optimum results, while maintaining high ethical standards and attention to compliance with institutional policies.
- Must maintain a professional appearance to best represent the UAG brand with prospects and external constituents.
- Must maintain a strong work ethic with excellent accountability and follow through.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university is required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Previous admission, student services, or public relations experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to speak Spanish is strongly preferred but not required.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to carry and transport 40 pounds of materials and/or equipment. Must be a licensed driver of an automobile with an acceptable driving record. Must be able and willing to travel long distances if needed, by airplane and by automobile.
