American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Home Hospice position requiring at least one year of home hospice experience and a current VA or compact RN license.

Home health/hospice setting providing care to patients in their place of residence

Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00–16:30)

Floating to other units may be requested based on facility needs

Local candidates are accepted for this position

Active VA RN license in hand or proof of a compact RN license
-
Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

Minimum 1 year of home hospice experience required, with specialty experience within the last year

Previous charge nurse experience required

One supervisory reference required for consideration

SSN and a copy of your driver's license required for consideration

Proficiency in end-of-life care, symptom assessment/management, pain management, and postmortem care

Prior permanent employees of Riverside Health must have been separated for at least 6 months before being eligible

Responsibilities include intake assessments, pain and symptom management, medication administration and proper disposal, end-of-life counseling, and patient/family education and support
-
Care encompasses advanced directives, death pronouncement, postmortem care, cultural awareness, and goal setting with patients and families
-
Clinical skills include pressure ulcer staging, positioning/preventive shearing, altered mental status management, and pharmacologic/non-pharmacological pain interventions

Respiratory fit testing will be conducted on-site upon arrival

Candidates cannot simultaneously hold a Riverside Travel assignment and a Riverside Per Diem contract — one must be chosen
-
RTO should be kept to a minimum; no full calendar weeks off are preferred, and no more than 7 days total during the assignment

All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; no additional RTO will be approved after an offer is made
