Duties
- Operate tractor-trailers and flatbeds adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Safely load and unload freight with a forklift.
- Navigate company preferred routes to ensure timely deliveries.
- Transport cargo efficiently while maintaining vehicle safety and cleanliness.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks, trailers, and cargo to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Load freight onto trucks manually or with equipment, ensuring proper securing of cargo for transport, including straps.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and compliance records in line with FMCSA and DOT regulations.
Experience
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including tractor-trailer operation and route driving.
- Familiarity with trailers, flatbeds, logistics cargo handling.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat) preferred but not required; training can be provided.
- Experience with manual transmission trucks is advantageous.
- Ability to handle manual loading/unloading tasks safely and effectively.
- Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, and hazardous goods handling procedures.
