Duties
- Coordinate between kitchen staff and servers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders
- Verify that all food items meet quality standards before serving, ensuring presentation and temperature are optimal
- Communicate clearly with cooks, chefs, and front-of-house staff to relay special requests or modifications
- Organize and prioritize food orders based on ticket times, order complexity, and service flow
- Assist with food preparation tasks when needed, including plating, garnishing, and portioning
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expediting station to promote food safety and efficiency
- Support the overall kitchen operation
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is a must
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with kitchen staff and servers
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling techniques
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems or order management tools is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple orders simultaneously
- Experience with banquet service, catering, or hotel hospitality is advantageous
- Basic numeracy skills for order accuracy and inventory management
