Responsibilities
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and structured activities to ensure safety and well-being.
- Plan and implement engaging activities that promote childhood development, creativity, and learning tailored to different age groups including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary school-age children.
- Maintain clear communication with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress, behavior, and daily experiences.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols by practicing proper child supervision techniques and maintaining a clean, hazard-free environment.
- Apply behavior management strategies to encourage positive interactions and address behavioral challenges effectively.
- Administer basic first aid or CPR in emergency situations following mandated reporting laws and safety guidelines.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing inclusive care that promotes participation and growth.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in settings such as daycare centers, babysitting, nannying, or youth programs.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles across various age groups including infants, preschoolers, toddlers, and elementary school-age children.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing training is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to plan engaging activities that foster learning and social skills for young children.
- Strong communication skills for effective parent interaction and team collaboration.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with energy, patience, and enthusiasm in a fast-paced environment.
