Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Banquet Prep Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality ingredients and components for banquet events, ensuring all dishes meet our standards of excellence. Must have availability to work weekends and holidays.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients and components for banquet service, including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients.
- Assist in menu planning by understanding event requirements and ensuring timely preparation of all food items.
- Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to maintain hygiene standards.
- Support the kitchen team with cooking, assembling, and garnishing dishes as needed for large-scale events.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep area, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and properly stored.
- Collaborate with culinary staff to coordinate meal preparation timelines and ensure smooth service flow.
- Assist with catering setup and breakdown, ensuring all food items are presented attractively and served promptly.
Skills
- Proven experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles, with knowledge of special dietary needs.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly within a restaurant or catering environment.
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various kitchen tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
- Experience with menu planning, food industry operations, and catering services is highly desirable.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and ensure quality standards are met.
