Job title: Administrative Loan Assistant
Reports to: Branch Manager
SUMMARY
Provide direct assistance to the Branch Manager in both lending and management capacities. Provide direct assistance to all Lending Staff within the branch office. Provide a friendly atmosphere to make the customer feel at ease during the interview, documentation gathering and closing process for loans of all types (e.g. consumer, commercial and real estate, etc.).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conduct initial and continuing customer contact for all types of loan activity within the branch office.
2. Provide loan underwriting administrative support (e.g. assisting in the preparation of Loan Presentation memorandums, pulling credit, UCC searches and OFAC/CIP reports).
3. Request flood certificates and order appraisals/evaluations and reviews as needed for real estate secured loans.
4. Coordinate the production of early disclosures and loan closing documents with the Centralized Loan Processing department, bank attorneys and lenders.
5. Coordinate customer appointments, in-branch loan signings and title company closings.
6. Scan and index loan documents and other customer information, create and maintain customer files, and ensure original documents are securely filed in appropriate file room cabinets.
7. Process new loans and construction loan draw requests for funding, order inspections per bank procedures and prepare general ledger entries, customer deposits and wire transfer requests for disbursement of funds.
8. Work with the branch lending staff and Centralized Loan Processing department to resolve customer and loan documentation exceptions.
9. Provide information on all deposit accounts and consumer loan products that are offered to facilitate cross-selling of the bank’s products.
10. Other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
A High School diploma or equivalent.
Skills
§ Proficiency in Excel and Word
§ Working Knowledge of financial statement requirements
§ Working knowledge of general loan documentation requirements for all loan types
§ Ability to communicate clearly in both written and oral forms
§ Must be highly motivated, responsible and able to work under pressure
§ Must be able to meet deadlines for time sensitive documents and work with a sense of urgency
§ Regular and punctual attendance is required
§ Individual should possess good interpersonal skills
§ Individual should be able to work within a team environment
§ Ability to communicate effectively
§ Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
§ Ability to respond in a courteous and helpful manner to customers who are angry or upset

Work Environment
Must be able to work under pressure and exhibit good judgment in making decisions pertaining to the overall health of the bank. Position requires extended periods of sitting and computer use. In addition, travel between bank branches and to customers and events is required.
