We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Inventory Transportation Specialist to join our growing dealership team. This position plays a critical role in supporting the acquisition, transportation, organization, and tracking of our vehicle inventory across multiple dealership locations.The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable managing multiple priorities, has excellent communication skills, and takes pride in maintaining accurate records while ensuring vehicles move efficiently through the inventory process.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the dispatch and transportation of vehicles from local and external locations while maintaining accurate transportation records and tracking costs.
- Receive incoming vehicles and perform inspections to identify transportation or auction-related damage.
- Prioritize incoming vehicles that are approaching the end of their Post Sale Inspection (PSI) period.
- Enter all vehicle purchases into the Tekion Dealer Management System for our El Paso, TX and Muncie, IN locations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vehicle statuses within the Recon system.
- Keep detailed documentation for all inventory transactions, including auction purchases, consignments, and transfers between locations.
- Manage vehicle key inventory, including key tagging, organization, and stock number assignment.
- Communicate with auction houses to obtain Bills of Sale, Gate Passes, and other required documentation when unavailable through auction portals.
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the Inventory Department.
- Collaborate closely with the Service Department to ensure vehicles move efficiently through the reconditioning process.
- Monitor inventory movement and help ensure vehicles are processed efficiently from acquisition through frontline readiness.
- Assist with special inventory projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree is a plus.
- Previous experience in automotive inventory, dealership operations, logistics, transportation, or administrative support is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple departments.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
