Support Staff for Preschool Students with Disabilities

Duties
- Provide direct classroom support to preschool students with disabilities, including physical assistance, behavioral management, and instructional support aligned with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Assist teachers in implementing curriculum tailored to early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional learning.
- Support communication efforts using American Sign Language (ASL) or other augmentative communication methods as needed.
- Collaborate closely with special education professionals, therapists, and families to develop and execute effective strategies for student success.
- Manage classroom behavior by applying positive reinforcement techniques and behavior management strategies suitable for children with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities.
- Handle confidential information responsibly while documenting student progress and incidents accurately.
- Support students during transitions, outdoor activities, meal times, and rest periods to ensure safety and comfort.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in early childhood settings or special education classrooms is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques.
- Experience supporting students with disabilities, including those with autism spectrum disorders or behavioral challenges.
- Familiarity with IEP processes, behavior management plans a plus
- Ability to handle physical assistance needs safely while maintaining a nurturing approach that promotes independence and confidence among students.

Monday- Friday 9:00-12:00
Positions available in Landsdale supporting student in Special Education Classroom:
Monday- Friday 9:00-2:15
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
