About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to set up and operate various machine shop equipment to produce complex tools, fixtures, and products. In this role, you will apply your expertise in documentation review, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement to ensure operational requirements are met in a safe and efficient manner. Your proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and utilizing measuring equipment will be essential to your success.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual and CNC lathes, milling machines, and grinders to fabricate precision components.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and tooling sheets to ensure accurate machining.
- Conduct thorough inspections of components using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and implement effective solutions to maintain production efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards to maintain a compliant and orderly work environment.
- Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience setting up and operating precision machine shop equipment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Vocational/Technical school preferred.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
- Strong math skills and the ability to interpret graphs and data.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and employee training practices.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software.
- Experience with CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC) (Haas, Okuma, Dmg Mori Seiki) and CNC Swiss Lathe (Tsugami).
