Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, and other school areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents.
- Handle cleaning supplies and chemicals safely, adhering to all chemical handling safety procedures and safety protocols.
- Operate floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial equipment to maintain optimal floor care and sanitation standards.
- Conduct manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of furniture, supplies, and cleaning equipment following safe lifting practices.
- Maintain cleanliness of all surfaces by dusting, sweeping, mopping, disinfecting, and trash removal to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Support facilities maintenance activities as needed, including minor repairs or reporting larger issues for prompt resolution.
- Follow safety guidelines consistently during all cleaning procedures to ensure a secure environment for colleagues and building occupants.
Qualifications
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or educational settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and the proper use of cleaning equipment.
- Experience with chemical agent handling safety procedures and familiarity with safety protocol adherence.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while maintaining safe lifting practices.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to ensure thorough cleaning routines.
- Good communication skills for effective teamwork and understanding of customer service principles within a school environment.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods during night shifts.
