Duties
- Manage payroll processing using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro to ensure timely and accurate employee compensation
- Maintain and update HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) including PeopleSoft, Kronos, Ceridian, or similar platforms for employee records and benefits administration
- Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws by staying current on legal requirements and implementing necessary policies
- Reconcile accounts related to payroll, benefits, taxes, and general ledger entries using accounting software like QuickBooks or other financial tools
- Support benefits administration by processing enrollments, changes, and terminations while providing employee assistance on related inquiries
- Perform data entry tasks with precision in time & attendance systems and payroll systems that are technically supported
- Prepare detailed reports on payroll, tax filings, labor law compliance, and financial analysis to inform management decisions
Qualifications
- Proven experience with payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or Kronos; familiarity with payroll tax calculations and reporting is essential
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, labor regulations, and tax law compliance applicable to payroll processing
- Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks or similar platforms; experience with governmental accounting is a plus
- Demonstrated skills in data entry, account reconciliation, journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation
- Excellent understanding of human resources functions such as benefits administration and employee record management
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data accurately; strong attention to detail in bookkeeping and financial concepts
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and supporting staff inquiries in a lively restaurant environment
