Job Overview

Duties
- Lead and manage the pharmacy team, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, to ensure efficient operations and high-quality patient service
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulation policies, and healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
- Manage inventory levels meticulously, including drug procurement, stock rotation, and controlled substance accountability
- Implement pharmacy software systems (PIS, EMR/EHR systems) for accurate record-keeping, medication administration documentation, and billing processes
- Facilitate immunizations, pain management protocols, and other clinical services while maintaining rigorous standards of patient safety and healthcare compliance
Requirements
- Valid pharmacist license in good standing with comprehensive knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws
- Proven experience practicing as a pharmacist in various settings such as hospital, community pharmacy, or LTC environments with a focus on clinical pharmacy services
- Critical care experience highly preferred; familiarity with acute care protocols is essential
- Strong background in managing pharmacy teams, including supervising pharmacy technicians and supporting staff development
- Expertise in pharmaceutical regulatory compliance including USP 797 standards for sterile compounding and drug regulation policies
- Proficiency with pharmacy information systems (PIS), EMR/EHR systems, inventory management tools, and automation technologies
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, immunizations administration, IV insertion techniques, aseptic procedures, and medication administration protocols
- Basic life support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications such as immunizations or advanced medical training are advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to uphold healthcare compliance standards including HIPAA regulations while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies
