Saint Sebastian Catholic School is seeking a collaborative and self-directed individual for the position of Middle School (Grades 6-8) Math Teacher for the 2026-27 school year.
A Middle School Math Teacher supports the development of the whole child through engaging instruction, positive relationships, and collaboration within the Saint Sebastian Catholic School community. Qualifications
Knowledge & Education
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Education or Mathematics
- Current Wisconsin teaching license (or ability to meet requirements for a plan of study toward licensure)
- Knowledge of middle school math standards and best instructional practices
- Working knowledge of Google Classroom, Gmail, and Google Calendar
- Practicing Catholic preferred, with a commitment to Catholic education
- Satisfactory Background Check and completion of Safeguarding God’s Children

Planning & Instructional Effectiveness
- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate math lessons aligned with curriculum expectations and standards

- Provide clear explanations, model problem-solving strategies, and encourage students to explain their thinking
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs and promote student confidence in mathematics
- Use instructional tools and technology to enhance student engagement and understanding
- Collaborate with appropriate personnel regarding students needing additional support
- Complete all required documentation related to instruction and assessment in a timely manner
- Supervise students during all assigned instructional and school-related activities
Assessment
- Use formal and informal assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction
- Clearly communicate expectations and assessment criteria to students
- Provide opportunities for student reflection and goal setting related to academic growth
Other Duties
- Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, professional development, and faith formation opportunities
- Attend and support school events outside the regular school day (e.g., Fall Parent Evening, Christmas Concert, January Open House)
- Take initiative aligned with the mission and vision of the parish and school
- Perform other duties as assigned
