Pierce Transit is seeking a dynamic and qualified candidate to join our team as an ADA Eligibility Assistant. This position reports to the ADA Eligibility Assistant Manager and will be responsible for supporting the ADA paratransit eligibility process and maintaining eligibility application information. In this role, you will provide information to applicants, caregivers and patient advocates, schedule and coordinates assessments and appeals while maintaining and tracking electronic and physical records to comply with State Record Retention guidelines.

PAID LEAVE:
Full-time Pierce Transit employees receive 11 paid holidays, 2 personal paid holidays, 6 days of major sick leave, 22 days of paid time off (PTO) per year and the ability to earn up to 2 Wellness Days by participating in a qualifying wellness activity and the annual survey. PTO accrual rates increase per policy.
If you're not currently living in the Lakewood-area, that's not a problem! We may be able to help with reimbursing up to $2,500 in moving expenses for those who physically relocate their primary residence to the Pierce/King/Thurston County area (substantiated with receipts). Processes requests for eligibility information received via telephone, mail, or in-person. Activates requests for the presumptive eligibility program. Responds to questions from applicants, caregivers, and patient advocates.

Updates computerized data and applicant database in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Agency requirements.

Maintains paper and electronic files and provides other support updating records or revising information as required. Prepares reports regarding eligibility activity.

Seeks additional information from treatment sources and treatment professionals and maintains a physician contact database.

Generates and mails eligibility determination letters in accordance with ADA requirements and agency policy.

Maintains appropriate and adequate supplies, eligibility materials, and packets for applicants, meetings, and mailings.

Assists with coordination of department related activities. Attends meetings and public forums.

Assist with conditional eligibility trip planning

Collects and distributes mail, photocopies, faxes, and documents.

Displays regular and consistent attendance.

Performs related work as required.
Education Requirements
Any required education must come from an accredited college or university whose accreditation is recognized by the U S Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or foreign equivalent.
