As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will:
-
Deliver occupational therapy treatments under the direction of the Occupational Therapist
-
Help residents improve independence with activities of daily living (ADLs)
-
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
-
Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, physicians, nursing staff, residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team
-
Participate in care conferences and rehabilitation meetings
-
Assist with training Restorative Nursing Assistants
-
Educate residents and families on therapy goals, home exercise programs, safety techniques, and fall prevention
-
Recommend adaptive equipment and assistive devices to maximize resident independence
-
Maintain a safe treatment environment by following infection control and safety standards

Provide in-service education for facility staff as needed

Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and rehabilitation program development

Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest professional standards
We're looking for someone who has:
-
Current California Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in good standing
-
Associate Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
-
CPR Certification (if required by licensure)

Skilled Nursing Facility experience is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply

Experience with Net Health and PointClickCare is a plus
-
Strong communication, teamwork, organizational, and documentation skills

A passion for helping residents maximize their independence and quality of life
This position requires standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, transferring residents, and safely operating therapy equipment throughout the workday. Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
