Duties
- Assist with the operation of underground mining equipment, including drilling machines and heavy machinery such as excavators and loaders
- Support manual handling tasks like material transport, equipment setup, and site cleanup in accordance with safety standards
- Follow strict safety regulations and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times during operations
- Help with the installation and maintenance of pipelines used for water or other fluids within the mine
- Participate in safety training sessions on OSHA standards, underground safety procedures, and emergency response protocols
- Support surface mining equipment operation when needed, including water trucks, tankers, or other industrial vehicles
- Perform routine inspections on machinery such as drilling rigs and industrial equipment to ensure proper functioning
Qualifications
- Willingness to learn about underground mining operations and equipment handling
- Basic mechanical knowledge or interest in industrial equipment maintenance is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely
- Outdoor work experience or comfort working in confined underground environments
- Strong adherence to safety standards, safety protocol compliance, and OSHA regulations
- Experience with construction sites or industrial environments is advantageous but not required
- Valid driver’s license for commercial driving or operating construction vehicles such as forklifts or excavators is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively within a team environment
