Position:
The primary focus of an after-school instructor will be to teach Snapology programs at elementary schools at the end of the school day. Our instructors are asked to promote creativity, curiosity, teamwork, problem-solving, and out-of-the-box thinking while encouraging students to ask questions, discover new ideas, and explore STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) concepts. All curriculum and materials are provided—you get to inspire discovery, extend students' thinking, and deliver the fun!
This role requires internal collaboration and communication with Snapology leadership while representing the Snapology organization to parents and children with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a passion for curiosity, creativity, and discovery.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Lead groups of students through curriculum-guided activities
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures as well as encouraging creativity & teamwork.
- Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in face-to-face training sessions
Qualifications:
- State and FBI Criminal and Child Abuse Clearances must be current and cleared to work with children in Pennsylvania.
- Negative TB test results.
- Experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment AND/OR
- Education degree or college students pursuing a degree in education.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to communicate effectively orally, in English
- Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
Primary Assignment:
- Weekday after-school classes at public and private schools in the Eagleville area. Must be available to work at least two weekdays, between 3:20-5:20pm.
Optional additional opportunities:

- Transition to Summer Camp Instructor at the end of the school year.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
