Job Summary
Jollof Joint Cafe is a fast-growing Nigerian restaurant dedicated to serving authentic West African cuisine with exceptional customer service. We're looking for energetic, dependable team members who are passionate about hospitality and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Dishwasher / Busser / Cleaner to help keep our restaurant clean, organized, and running efficiently. This position is essential to maintaining a sanitary kitchen and dining environment while supporting the rest of our team during service.
Duties
- Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area.
- Bus and clean dining tables between guests.
- Sweep, mop, and sanitize all areas of restaurant as needed.
- Take out trash and recycling and replace liners as needed.
- Clean restrooms and restock supplies throughout the shift.
- Assist with cleaning kitchen equipment, prep areas, and storage spaces.
- Restock cleaning and paper supplies when necessary.
- Help with opening, closing, and deep-cleaning duties.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Support the kitchen and front-of-house staff as needed.
Skills
- Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitizing procedures essential for maintaining hygiene standards.
- Experience in restaurant or hospitality environments STRONGLY preferred; familiarity with food service operations is a plus.
- Strong manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy items safely and efficiently.
- Basic knife skills for handling cutlery and kitchen tools when needed.
- Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in cleaning and organization tasks.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting kitchen staff and servers.
- Good understanding of food safety management principles to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Punctuality and Reliability are of utmost importance.
- Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work weekends and evenings.
