Medical Assistant / Clinical Support
University of Rochester | Canandaigua, NY
Full-Time | Day Shift (40 hrs/week)
Pay Range: $18.50 – $24.98/hour (based on experience, education, and internal equity)
Join the University of Rochester’s team in Canandaigua and play a hands-on role in delivering high-quality patient care in a supportive, community-based setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist providers during exams and procedures; anticipate needs and support workflow
- Take vital signs, perform diagnostic testing, and collect/process specimens
- Prepare and stock exam/procedure rooms; maintain sterile environments
- Support minor procedures, including setup, instrumentation, and patient care
- Communicate clearly with patients to ensure comfort and understanding
- Document care in the electronic medical record
- Manage supplies, inventory, and equipment readiness
- Follow infection prevention and safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1+ year in a customer-facing or patient care setting
- Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment
Preferred: Associate’s degree and knowledge of medical terminology
