Coordinator of the First-Year Experience (Student Services Manager I), Salary: $52,526 – $65,658 per year, USCA College of Humanities and Social Sciences
The Coordinator of the First-Year Experience collaborates and develops key relationships across campus to identity, develop, implement, and assesses initiatives to increase a sense of belonging and success of prospective students through their first year of college at Aiken. The Coordinator manages all aspects of the UNIV program, peer student programs, and is a key liaison to enrollment management, student affairs, academic affairs, athletics, and facilities to enhance the student experience. The Coordinator provides administrative and implementation support for the First-Year Experience programs and initiatives. The Coordinator is a strong collaborator and is able to communicate effectively across a variety of stakeholder groups while also being adaptable and flexible to emerging efforts within First Year Experience, Student Affairs, and Academic Support areas. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong critical thinking and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently while developing strong collaborative relationships with colleagues, students, student and academic affairs units. The individual must be able to exercise excellent professional judgment and discretion, making decisions on a regular basis that impact student welfare and the institution. Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Preferred: Master’s degree in Education, Student Affairs, Higher Education, or Counseling and relevant work experience coordinating and assessing student or academic programs in a higher education setting is preferred.
