Boccelli’s Ristorante is seeking an experienced, dependable line cook to join our kitchen team. This position primarily includes lunch hot-line and sauté cooking, along with prep work needed for current and upcoming shifts.
This is a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen. The right candidate will work with urgency, maintain an organized station, communicate well with coworkers, and help the entire kitchen operate efficiently.
Current Schedule
The current schedule generally includes:
- Monday: 11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. and 5:00–8:30 p.m.
- Tuesday: 11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. and 5:00–8:30 p.m.
- Wednesday: 4:30–8:30 p.m.
- Thursday: 11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. and 5:00–8:30 p.m.
- Saturday evening availability is preferred
Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday are split shifts. The break between shifts is unpaid, and employees may leave the restaurant during the break.
Closing times may fluctuate depending on business volume and the time required to properly close and clean the kitchen. Actual weekly hours will generally range from 35–40 hours.
Responsibilities
- Set up, stock, and organize the hot line before service
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portions, and presentation standards
- Work the sauté and other hot-line stations during lunch and dinner service
- Manage multiple tickets while maintaining proper timing and food quality
- Coordinate ticket timing with other cooks and the expo position
- Complete assigned prep work for the current shift and upcoming service periods
- Maintain proper station pars and communicate shortages
- Label, date, rotate, cool, and store food correctly
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation throughout the shift
- Complete opening, shift-change, and closing procedures
- Follow food-safety, sanitation, temperature-control, and allergen procedures
- Use proper portions and help minimize unnecessary food waste
- Assist neighboring stations and coworkers as needed
- Contribute to a positive, efficient, and team-focused kitchen environment
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced commercial kitchen
- Previous sauté-station or comparable hot-line experience
- Previous food-preparation experience
- Ability to organize and independently operate an assigned station
- Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality or consistency
- Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with a kitchen team
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to remain productive and organized under pressure
- Willingness to assist with prep, cleaning, and other kitchen responsibilities as needed
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
An Oregon Food Handler Card is preferred. We can assist the selected candidate with obtaining or renewing one when necessary.
Language
Spanish-English bilingual ability is preferred because most of our kitchen team communicates primarily in Spanish.

Compensation and Benefits
- $19–$24 per hour
- Starting pay is based on relevant kitchen experience, sauté experience, and demonstrated stability in previous positions
