Position Overview
The Public Entity Associate will provide legal support and representation for public entities, focusing on insurance defense and litigation. The associate will work closely with senior attorneys to manage cases from inception to resolution, ensuring effective legal strategies are employed to protect the interests of public clients.
Key Responsibilities-
Assist in the preparation and litigation of defense cases for public entities

Conduct legal research and draft legal documents including motions, pleadings, and discovery

Attend court hearings and trials as required, providing support to lead attorneys

Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel to gather information and resolve issues

Maintain case files and documentation in accordance with firm policies and legal standards
-
Participate in case strategy meetings and contribute to the development of defense strategies
Qualifications-
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction
-
2+ years of experience in insurance defense litigation

Strong written and oral communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Excellent research and analytical skills
