American Traveler is seeking an experienced Rehab RN for an inpatient rehabilitation unit, requiring a MO or compact RN license and BSN.
-
Inpatient Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) caring for patients discharged from acute care but requiring 1+ week of PT/OT/speech therapy
-
Patient population includes post-surgical, post-stroke, CHF, total joints, hip/femur fractures, back/neck surgery, and general med-surg cases
-
Non-telemetry unit, though patients may occasionally have IVs and require lab draws
-
Patient ratio of 1:5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights

Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30

Every 3rd weekend required, with holiday block coverage during the contract

May float to like units within the hospital at any time

Uses Epic charting system

Locals accepted at a reduced rate within a 50-mile radius

Active RN license (MO State or Compact) required, pending license accepted if active and in hand prior to start

BSN required
-
BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred

Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required; first-time travelers considered with 2+ years experience

Must pass a basic EKG exam with 80% or higher (2 attempts allowed) and a telemetry test prior to starting
-
Responsible for own IV insertions and lab draws during shifts

Epic charting experience preferred

Previous travel experience preferred

Provide daily rehabilitative care in collaboration with physical therapy and care management teams to plan for patient discharge upon admission

Work in a Level II Trauma and Level II Stroke Center with 352 certified beds
-
Team-based care environment requiring strong collaboration with interdisciplinary teams

Must complete all organizational mandatory education and check email regularly for updates

Self-scheduling is used, though schedules are set 6 weeks in advance which may limit flexibility for incoming travelers

No smoking or leaving the premises during shifts

Previous employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
