Building Blocks is looking for Early Learning Substitute Educators (ELSEs) to support preschool classrooms throughout our community. As an ELSE, you'll step into classrooms when regular teachers are absent to help keep the day running smoothly.
No teaching experience? No problem! This is an entry-level position, and we'll provide the training you need. Whether you're a college student, retiree, parent, or someone looking for flexible work, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
- Support teachers and children in preschool classrooms.
- Help with daily classroom activities and routines.
- Read books, play games, and engage with children through learning and play.
- Encourage a safe, caring, and positive environment.
- Assist with meals, outdoor play, nap time, and classroom transitions.
- Follow the plans and routines already in place for the classroom.
- Be a dependable, positive team member for the children and staff.
What We're Looking For
- Enjoys working with young children.
- Reliable and dependable.
- Friendly, patient, and willing to learn.
- Able to adapt to different classrooms and childcare centers.
- High school diploma or equivalent (or currently working toward one, if applicable).
- Experience with children is a plus, but not required.

About Our Sub Pool
Our Early Learning Substitute Educators work in licensed childcare centers throughout the area, helping provide consistent care and learning experiences for young children when regular staff are unavailable.
*Sign-on bonus is paid after successful completion of onboarding requirements and your first 5 shifts!
Pay: $17.00 per hour
