Job Title: Paralegal
Location: Zerillo Law Firm, LLC - Portland, Maine (in‑person)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Starting annual salary: $50,000–$65,000 DOE

We are a busy Portland litigation firm handling criminal defense, family law, and personal injury matters. We provide zealous client advocacy in courtroom and pretrial settings and seek a reliable paralegal to support our attorneys across these practice areas.
Position Summary:
The paralegal will assist attorneys with case preparation, client communication, court filings, and trial support. This is an on‑site role requiring discretion, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Primary support for litigation team attorneys
- Client facing support
- Drafting and formatting pleadings
- Discovery organization and Bates management
- Calendar coordination
- Client communications and follow-up
- Witness coordination
- Trial notebook preparation
- Motion exhibit preparation
- File maintenance and workflow tracking
- Coordination of mitigation materials
- Monitoring deadlines and task completion
Qualifications:
- Paralegal certificate or degree preferred; equivalent experience considered
- Familiarity with Maine state court procedures, e‑filing, and local rules a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize
- Ability to work with clients who face extremley stressful circumstances.
- Professional demeanor, client-focused, and able to maintain confidentiality
- Must be able to work on-site in our Portland office
