East Georgia Healthcare Center has a n immediate opening for a full time Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in our Statesboro Office. EHGC is a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center with an 12 county service area offering a fully integrated healthcare home experience for patients. EGHC serves all patients in need of primary healthcare, while eliminating traditional barriers to health services. EGHC is seeking a qualified motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to participate in patient care within our Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) practice.
Job Summary
Under the general supervision of an EGHC physician the FNP or PA will be expected to:
- Practice medicine by caring for patients without discrimination as regards to age, race, color, national origin, ethnicity, sex, sexual preference, weight, handicap or income.
- Utilize evidence based care models and internal policy and procedures to provide the best, value based, care for individuals with healthcare needs.
- Work with and in conjunction with support staff as a “care team” to best serve the patient panel.
- Immunize and vaccinate patients against communicable diseases as recommended and required by the standard of care as it from time to time is updated.
- Confer with other supervising physicians, consulting physicians, nurses, patients and patients' relatives concerning treatment and care of patients, using good care and diligence as to confidentiality.
- Refer those cases which require specialist services, adhering to managed care contracts, principles, guidelines, using established and approved provider networks, and maintain responsibility for assuring that those services are required.
- Participate in practice development, quality assurance, peer review, staff meetings/activities as deemed necessary by the Chief Medical Officer and/or the CEO.
