Tech Designer (Apparel) – New York, NY
We are a fast-growing apparel company looking for a talented and detail-oriented Tech/Product Development Designer to join our New York team.
Your main focus will be analyzing current market trends, managing the fitting process, and executing sample development from market samples supplied to you with elevated fashion direction to appeal to major USA retail buyers.
Key Responsibilities: but not limited to
- Sample Adaptation: Work directly with our in-house production team to create new and updated styling for our target retailers.
- Sample & Fit Management: Conduct fit sessions upon receiving samples from overseas factories, provide detailed fit comments, and ensure technical accuracy.
- Buyer-Driven Development: Work with existing successful garment styles to develop variations using various prints and fabrications to maximize buyer appeal.
- Vendor Communication: Maintain clear, daily communication with our clients, fabric mills and factories regarding production specifications, fit corrections, and timelines.
Qualifications
- Experience in the apparel industry as a Product Developer, Technical Designer, or Development Designer.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and tech packs.
- Ability to commercialize trends and apply various prints/graphics onto existing garment silhouettes.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A major requirement is to have experience, understanding of the business model for retailers (such as Kohl’s, Belk, JC Penney, Specialty Stores etc.)
Pay: $80,028.97 - $85,776.20 per year
