Part-Time High School Teacher — Day School (Huntington Learning Center)

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 9:30 AM–3:00 PM (with opportunities to pick up additional paid tutoring shifts in the afternoons/evenings)
Compensation: Starting at $18/hour
Student Ratio: 6:1
About the Role
We're seeking a part-time teacher to join our small, personalized day school program serving high school students. Students work independently through an online learning platform, but rely on you throughout the day for real-time support, instruction, and guidance — especially in high school math. This is a hands-on role in a low student-to-teacher ratio environment, ideal for an educator who thrives on individualized instruction and wants a flexible, meaningful schedule.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing academic support to students as they progress through an online curriculum
- Deliver direct instruction and clarification across core subjects, with strong emphasis on high school math (Algebra I/II, Geometry, and beyond)
- Monitor student progress on the online platform and step in with instruction as needed
- Adapt support and pacing to a small group of students (6:1 ratio)
- Communicate with families and program leadership on student progress
- Maintain a structured, supportive classroom environment
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required (minimum qualification)
- Comfortable teaching and troubleshooting high school-level curriculum, particularly math
- Comfortable working within an online/blended learning platform, with basic tech proficiency
- Prior teaching, tutoring, or classroom experience preferred
- Strong communication skills — able to work independently and check in with program leadership
- Patience and ability to manage a self-paced, small-group learning environment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to the Mon–Thu schedule
- Ability to pass a background check
