American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cath Lab/EP position in San Marcos, TX, requiring at least 1 year of experience and active ACLS certification.

Cardiology Cath Lab unit within a hospital setting
-
Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
-
On-call required for STEMI response: 16–20 days of call per 6-week period
-
Weekend on-call required: 3 out of every 6 weekends
-
13-week contract
-
Active TX RN license or compact RN license with TX privileges required

Current BLS certification required (AHA only)

Current ACLS certification required (AHA only)

Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty or critical care setting
-
BSN preferred
-
US Social Security Number required for consideration

Two professional references required for consideration

Active, unexpired copies of all certifications required for consideration

Provides routine and complex nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation

Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness

Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
-
Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
-
Assesses patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education
-
Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed
-
New hires attend a mandatory New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
-
Initial onboarding includes preceptorship with a trained staff member and completion of organizational and department-specific competency validations

Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
