Job Summary
The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for developing, executing, and evaluating in-state member programming and cultivating strong relationships with the organization’s independent business membership. This role sits at the intersection of member engagement, events, policy support, and grassroots coordination. The Coordinator ensures members receive high-value programming, meaningful advocacy opportunities, and consistent onboarding and relationship management.
The position requires a highly organized, relationship-driven professional who thrives in event execution, membership relationship management, and cross-team collaboration. The ultimate goal is to maximize member value, engagement, and attendance while strengthening the organization’s advocacy impact.
Key Responsibilities
Event Devlopment & Member Programming
- Develop event concepts, lead planning and execution of in-state cultivation events.
- Track attendance, engagement, and member feedback to evaluate programming effectiveness and recommend improvements and refined strategy over time.
Membership Relationship Management
- Serve as primary steward of in-state independent business memberships.
- Maintain detailed records for each member business including, business activities, industry sector, size and workforce information.
- Build long-term relationships with member businesses through regular communication.
- Work closely with communications and policy teams to draft and disseminate regular email updates to member businesses.
- Identify opportunities to deepen engagement and participation.
New Member Onboarding
- Create a new member onboarding and follow-up workflow.
- Partner with grassroots engagement directors on new member intake.
- Collect and document relevant operational and regulatory information.
- Maintain member data, and ensure its accessible for internal teams.
Policy & Advocacy Support
- Support the in-state policy director by elevating government and regulatory concerns expressed by member businesses.
- Assist policy team in connecting relevant policy actions and regulatory changes relevant to member businesses.
- In coordination with state directors and national headquarters staff, help translate policy activity into member-facing engagement opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience in membership organizations, events, advocacy, or nonprofit/public affairs
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience managing databases or CRM systems preferred.
- Comfortable working with business leaders and public officials.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel in-state for events and meetings.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
