Our Associates are responsible for ensuring that our customers have a positive shopping experience. Associates greet all customers with a smile, and in a courteous and friendly manner. Associates are responsible for explaining tasting procedures, product locations, answering customer questions, and offering any suggestions and product information that would be helpful to each customer. Associates treat co-workers, vendors, customers, and others with respect. Associates are expected to be engaged in work tasks as assigned and as needed during all working hours.
Qualifications and Expectations:
· Experience working with customers in a retail environment preferred.
· Enthusiastic, friendly, and engaging personality
· Able to learn and operate the register.
· Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
· Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
· Demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions with store representatives, vendors and customers.
· Safeguards confidential information, cash and credit card information, and merchandise.
· Able to consistently lift 30 pounds or more.
· Carefully follows all safety precautions and procedures to ensure the safety of themselves and others.
· Uses all store equipment properly and safely.
· Works well in a team environment and also comfortable working alone, including opening, operating, and closing the store independently as needed.
· Maintains a clean and neat working environment.
· Provides prompt and efficient responses to customers.
· Always maintain a professional appearance.
· Must communicate effectively.
Additional Duties include but are not limited to the following.
· Maintain a high level of awareness following all safety procedures and precautions.
· Open, operate, and close the store independently when needed.
· Greet and Advise customers about Chattanooga Olive Oil Company products.
· Keep all areas of the store neat and clean.
· Associates are expected to sweep, mop, wash dishes, prepare a variety of food and drinks, serve customers, and empty trash receptacles.
· Our associates are also responsible for Filling olive oil, vinegar, and other product bottles as needed.
· Defrost and clean gelato freezer and maintain and clean all store equipment.
· Follow procedures for receiving new product shipments.
· Keep store sales areas well stocked.
· Be well educated on current store merchandise and learn new products as they are added to the store.
· Help work with special classes and groups as needed.
· Work at trade shows and off-site events as needed.
· Follow procedures to process and ship online orders, including orders for pickup, delivery, and shipment.
· Replace water cooler water bottle as needed.
· Print flyers and business materials as needed and when requested.
· Prepare wholesale orders and keep wholesale and all business paperwork up to date.
· Must be able to operate a computer efficiently and be familiar with Windows operating systems and programs.
· Associates must be able to answer the business phone and return calls and emails in a timely and professional manner.
