Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register efficiently, accurately processing retail sales transactions and handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and providing product information.
- Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging additional sales through upselling techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring merchandise is properly stocked and displays are attractive.
- Assist with stocking shelves, merchandising products, and managing inventory levels to support store presentation.
- Handle cash drawer balancing at the end of each shift with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and phone etiquette when interacting with customers or team members.
- Support the team by supervising new or less experienced staff when needed, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Promote retail store product knowledge through ongoing learning about merchandise offerings.
- Assist in conducting product demos and explaining features to customers in a clear, engaging manner.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred; grocery store experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations.
- Strong basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Excellent communication skills and friendly phone etiquette.
- Ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Experience in stocking, merchandising, and retail math calculations.
- Supervising experience is advantageous for leadership opportunities within the team.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs.
- Knowledge of retail store product details and customer service best practices is highly valued.
