Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and energetic Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatrist to join our dynamic mental health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric care, including diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, and medication management for diverse patient populations. Your expertise will help improve mental health outcomes across various settings including low-income housing, outpatient clinics, and assisted living and retirement communities. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status examinations, and risk assessments.
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology, psychoeducational interventions, and other modalities as appropriate.
- Prescribe and monitor medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients with complex mental health needs.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like SimplePractice or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Provide some telehealth services to expand access to mental health care for remote or underserved populations.
Skills
- Proven experience in behavioral health, including working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care.
- Core competency in knowledge of psychopharmacology and medication management principles.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for seamless documentation.
- Experience with crisis intervention techniques and triage in urgent or emergency settings.
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations when necessary.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Ideal candidates will also have experience in primary care settings, familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes, and skills in utilizing telehealth platforms to deliver high-quality psychiatric services remotely. A background in clinical research or experience working within assisted living or nursing home settings is a plus. Pay: $201,000.00 - $260,000.00 per year
