Job Summary
At the center of the Granada Theatre's operations, our part-time Event Support staff play a pivotal role in ensuring memorable experiences for our valued clientele, patrons, and volunteers. This position is dedicated to ensuring seamless event execution, delivering top-notch customer service, and fostering effective teamwork and cooperation with the Front of House, Hospitality, and Operations Teams.
Work Schedule
Granada Event Support staff work a varied schedule of weekdays and evenings, and weekend hours, solely dictated by the event schedule. Event Support shift schedules are published a month in advance. Additional required training shifts or reception setup that range from 2-4 Hours may be scheduled with less notice. Part-time, hourly.
Reports to: Hospitality Manager
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour, non-exempt, part-time
Primary Duties Include:
Event Support
- Support Hospitality Manager with receptions, events, show layouts, and other needs in the Hospitality Department.
- Support Hospitality and Front of House Staff with set up for all events. Including but not limited to: tables, chairs, rope and stanchions,
- Support the bar staff by stocking and replenishing beverages, glassware, and supplies.
- Engage with security personnel to provide radio, and security scheduling paperwork.
- Communicate with Front of House Staff, and Stage operations during closing procedures and locking/unlocking the “House”.
Event Support for Front of House
- Check in with the House Manager throughout the shift and respond to requests as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness in common areas, including lobbies, hallways, and seating areas.
- Conduct regular bathroom checks and replenish supplies.
- Assist with seating arrangements and guide guests to their seats.
- Provide assistance to ADA patrons and ensure accessible seating. (May include taking in or out specific seating to accommodate ADA patrons.)
- Assist with signaling performance commencement during events (five minute warnings before shows)
- Collaborate with the Front of House team to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide excellent customer service and address guest inquiries and concerns.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks and post-event cleanup.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively.
- Adhere to safety, health, and ADA compliance guidelines.
- ADA - American Disability Act (Mobility impaired patrons).
Skills/Knowledge
- Self-motivated, well-organized, detail oriented, and excellent customer relations skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Some computer and technical knowledge (Preferred).
- Flexibility and openness to learning new skills.
Working Conditions
- This position requires the ability to work a variable schedule, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet operational needs.
- At times, lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Includes moving tables/chairs up and down different floors of the theater.
- Moving Mobile bars throughout the theater.
- Carrying boxes to appropriate locations.
- Walking for extended periods throughout the theater.
Benefits & Compensation:
This is a part-time, nonexempt position. The pay range is $18.00-22.00 per hour depending on skills and experience. The Granada Theatre provides sick time and EAP benefits for all part-time employees.
