This position is located in the Property Management & Maintenance Services Branch assists and oversees activities for the planning, contracting, collaboration and/or directing of support services programs such as safety and crime prevention, case management and counseling, resident councils, and social and economic self-sufficiency activities.
Legal Authorization To Work Requirement:
The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
Education:
Graduation from a four-year accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.
Experience:
One year of work experience which included the evaluation and integration of data to develop alternatives to meet goals and objectives; responsibility for budget review; initiating correspondence and program policy.
Knowledge:
Human behavior/needs related to families in public housing or receiving public assistance; community resources and their ability to support housing clients/families; methods and practices of data collection and presentation; spreadsheets and word processing software.
Skills/Abilities:
Maintain rapport with residents; coordinate activities with community groups and agencies; analyze facts and develop sound conclusions; speak and write effectively; write comprehensive reports and evaluations.
Required License: Valid Class 3, driver's license preferred.
This position is exempt from civil service. Therefore, if you are appointed to the position, your employment will be considered to be "at will", which means that you may be discharged from your employment at the prerogative of your department head or designee at any time.
