Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand their hair goals and recommend suitable styles, colors, and treatments.
- Perform a variety of hair services including cutting, styling, coloring, highlighting, and hair extensions using professional techniques.
- Utilize salon software such as MINDBODY to schedule appointments, manage client records, and process retail sales efficiently.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in all work areas, tools, and equipment to ensure client safety.
- Apply advanced skills like straight razor shaving, hair threading, eyelash extensions, and makeup application to enhance client satisfaction.
- Educate clients on hair care routines and product recommendations to promote healthy hair maintenance.
- Upsell retail products such as shampoos, conditioners, styling tools, and hair treatments to maximize sales opportunities.
- Assist with front desk duties including greeting clients, managing appointments, and handling client communication professionally.
- Mentor junior staff members by sharing expertise in cosmetology techniques like color theory and store management practices.
- Stay current with industry trends by attending training sessions on new styling methods and salon software updates.
Experience
- Proven experience working in the beauty industry as a Hair Dresser or Barber with a strong portfolio of diverse styles.
- Familiarity with salon management software such as MINDBODY or similar platforms for scheduling and retail tracking.
- Knowledge of hair coloring techniques, including balayage, highlights, and color correction.
- Skilled in various hairstyling methods for different hair types and lengths using professional tools.
- Experience performing specialized services like hair extensions, eyelash extensions, nail care, and makeup application is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of sanitation standards and safety protocols within a salon environment.
- Excellent communication skills for effective client consultations and team collaboration.
- Ability to upsell products confidently while providing exceptional customer service to build lasting client relationships.
