Responsibilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment (including ammonia refrigeration), and building automation systems.
- Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and conduct electrical diagnostics to troubleshoot system faults efficiently.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to ensure precise installation and repairs.
- Utilize hand tools and welding equipment to repair or replace mechanical components and mechanical systems.
- Conduct routine HVAC system maintenance to optimize performance and extend equipment lifespan while adhering to safety standards.
- Troubleshoot complex equipment problems involving plumbing, electrical systems, refrigeration cycles, and mechanical systems repair.
- Provide excellent customer service by clearly explaining issues and solutions to clients while maintaining professionalism on-site.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HVAC technician with a well-rounded skill set covering HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance.
- Construction experience or property maintenance background is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) systems.
- Ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and HVAC design plans accurately.
- Experience with electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting electrical systems within HVAC units.
- Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) and electrical systems related to HVAC operations.
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications such as <PERSON> driver license are preferred.
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus for specialized environments.
- Skilled in using hand tools, welding equipment, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools for equipment repair.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and professionalism in client interactions.
