Signature Swine is a growing, family-owned swine operation seeking a dependable, motivated Swine Care Technician to join our team.
In this role, you will play a key part in caring for sows from breeding through farrowing, as well as piglets from birth through weaning. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on agricultural work and wants to build a long-term career in farming.
No prior swine experience required — we will train the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily animal care and general farm duties
- Assist with breeding and farrowing operations
- Administer vaccinations and support herd health programs
- Process litters and care for newborn piglets
- Safely move and load sows and piglets
- Clean and sanitize facilities (including power washing)
- Maintain accurate herd records and assist with herd management
- Support facility maintenance and overall site upkeep
What We’re Looking For
- Reliable, hardworking, and self-motivated
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working with livestock in a farm environment
- Willing to learn new skills and grow within the company
- Strong communication skills with team members, management, and veterinary staff
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of livestock or swine production experience (preferred, not required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on role requiring:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Frequent bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and standing
- Ability to walk throughout the facility for extended periods
Schedule
- Full-time position hours range from 20-48 per week.
- Includes weekends and holidays
- Bonus days off in addition to PTO
Pay & Benefits
- $15.00 – $25.00 per hour (based on experience) Salary Pay.
