Responsibilities
- Assist customers in identifying and selecting the appropriate boat parts, accessories, and maintenance products through expert knowledge and active listening.
- Manage inventory levels accurately using inventory control systems such as CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and POS (Point of Sale) software to ensure product availability.
- Conduct automotive diagnostics related to boat engines and systems to recommend effective repair or replacement solutions.
- Handle sales transactions efficiently, including cash handling, cashiering, and processing orders with precision.
- Maintain a well-organized stockroom by stocking shelves, organizing parts logically, and conducting regular inventory audits.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and clear communication skills.
- Collaborate with the sales team on marketing initiatives, promotional events, and upselling strategies to boost retail sales.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and automotive repair techniques specific to marine engines and boat systems.
- Excellent negotiation skills to assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions while maximizing sales opportunities.
- Proficiency in inventory management tools such as CMMS, Microsoft Excel, and retail math for accurate stock control.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve a diverse customer base effectively.
- Experience with dealership operations, retail sales environments, or marine supply stores is preferred.
- Effective communication skills paired with phone etiquette to engage customers professionally over calls or in person.
- Organizational skills necessary for stocking, order fulfillment, maintaining POS systems, and ensuring smooth store operations.
