American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU/Oncology position requiring 2 years of ICU experience and current EPIC proficiency.
-
Work in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) with an oncology patient population
-
Adult patient population with diagnoses including hemorrhagic/hypovolemic shock, sepsis, septic shock, pneumonia, ARDS, craniotomy, ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, intracranial hypertension, and delirium
-
13-week assignment with night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM) or day/night rotating schedule based on department needs

Shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period with changes based on staffing priorities

EPIC EMR experience required

Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of submission

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS

Minimum 2 years of current ICU experience within the last 12 months in the specialty applied for

Oncology experience preferred but not required
-
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
-
Skilled in EVD management, ICP monitoring, Massive Transfusion Protocol, mechanical ventilation, HFNC, BiPAP, CPAP, tracheostomy management, CRRT, and vasopressor titration
-
Proficient in arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
-
Experience with continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips

Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and ABGs
-
Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
-
Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and no coworker references accepted

Provide critical care nursing to surgical and oncology ICU patients requiring advanced respiratory, renal, and neurological interventions
-
First-time travelers with 2+ years of relevant experience will be considered

Local candidates accepted at the same rate

Former employees eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more

Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible to be hired as travelers
-
RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
-
Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon signing contract, with candidates outside the state required to travel to a fingerprinting location or complete a mailed packet
